The aim of the study is to develop a wireless sensor network protocol with the goal of detecting forest fires. The study is composed of 3 parts; simulating forest fire, simulating wireless sensor network and developing the wireless sensor network protocol. For the purpose of simulating forest fires, an open source library, "Firelib" is used. After having the fire simulation results, wireless sensor network simulation runs the protocol implemented. During the study, various sensor network protocols will be implemented. According to the test results, an efficient protocol will be developed having the goals of detecting the fire as soon as the fire starts and consuming as less energy as possible. Also, forecasting the spread direction of the fire is aimed.
